It really was great there and I think it has been one of my favorite trips so far. It definitely is a place worth going to. Oh and I apologize if some of the photos are a little blurred. I had just gotten a new camera and clearly was having difficulties ;)
These first photos were taken in Kinsale, which is really a cute little town. One of my favorites from the trip. I love all things nautical, and I really liked this town because it was on the coast and it had some really cool places and scenery.
Next up was Cahir castle, which was amazing. This is a great place to go exploring and just wander around for hours. It is the perfect castle complete with an actual moat and dungeons! Sometimes I would find myself feeling a bit overwhelmed and awestruck thinking about how people actually lived there and stood where I was standing. If you ever find yourself in Ireland, I would definitely check this out.
I thought I should include some irish scenery.
Despite advice from my buddy Rick Steve (we're not actually buddies. I just like to think we are) who said the Blarney Castle wasn't worth it, we went anyways, and I'm glad we did!
We also went to the Cliffs of Moher, which is the windiest place I have ever been to. Seriously, I felt like I was going to be swept off my feel a couple times. We were there in early January so I'm sure it's not quite this bad all the time, and it was actually kind of fun! The view was absolutely gorgeous though. And the information center was built right into the hillside, which I thought was quite cool.
This seriously reminded me of Teletubbies... |
Ahh all these photos are bringing back so many memories! Now I'm going to have to go on google earth or read a travel book or something ;P
